American Legion Post 139 is honored to host our own member, Steve Miska, Army veteran, national security leader, and author of the acclaimed book Baghdad Underground Railroad: Saving American Allies in Iraq. This powerful work chronicles the courageous Iraqi interpreters and cultural advisors who risked their lives to stand beside U.S. forces—and the extraordinary efforts to help bring them to safety.
Miska’s firsthand perspective offers a rare and compelling look into the human side of war, loyalty, and the moral obligations we carry long after deployment. His story has been praised by senior military leaders and policy experts as essential reading for anyone seeking to understand America’s alliances and the people who helped shape mission success on the ground.
Join us for an in-depth author talk and live Q&A, followed by a book signing where guests can connect directly with Steve Miska about the people and experiences behind the book. Attendees who RSVP will be automatically entered for a chance to win a free signed copy.
